Admission

Students entering K2 must be five years old by September 1st of the year entering the program.  Birth certificate and baptismal certificate (if applicable) as well as proof of immunization are required.

School Hours

Monday through Friday 8:10 – 2:00PM

Lunch program and extended day care available


Curriculum


Basic Skills

Recognizing and writing first and last name in upper/lower case format

Knowing address and telephone number

Understanding positional concepts (right, left, top, bottom, etc.)

Following complete sequence of an activity

Fine/Gross Motor Development

Developing appropriate pencil grip and use

Holding scissors correctly and cutting properly

Coloring within a restricted space

Using appropriate movements for grade level

Religion

Learning the Sign of the Cross, Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be

Participating in activities that encourage spiritual and moral development

Participating in Liturgical services during the year

Knowing Christian meaning of Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter

Participating in school-sponsored Christian Outreach projects


Math


Counting numbers 0 – 100,  recognizing numbers 0-30

Learning correct formation of numbers 0-20

Replacing numbers missing in a sequence

Reproducing and extending color and shape patterns

Classifying and sorting in a variety of ways

Understanding number terminology: greater than, less than, equal to

Creating simple graphs

Comparing height, length, size, shape, more/less

Knowing and drawing circles, squares, rectangles, ovals
